AFS FOR ONCOLOGY DRUGS
The AFS is an all-in-one solution for delivering oncology medications at the point-of-care, which avoids the advanced prep by hospital pharmacists.
OPTIMIZING SAFETY FOR CYTOTOXIC DRUGS
Currently, most oncology medications need to be prepared in advance by pharmacists using Closed System Transfer Devices (CSTDs), which safely transfer drugs from vials into syringes. These syringes are then provided to nurses for in-patient or at-home based infusion therapies.
However, if a patient expresses symptoms (e.g. fever), the drug delivery process is typically abandoned. In these cases, the expensive oncology medications need to be discarded – a significant financial waste to our healthcare system.
The AFS is a point-of-care drug delivery solution that can be administered after patient vitals have been confirmed. This ensures that the high-value oncology medications are used only when needed and saved in the event of an unexpected patient symptom that prevents the drug from being administered.
The AFS can be customized to meet the unique needs of your drug and the oncology application. Below are some of the sample customizations:
- Dose Volumes: Ranging from 1-12 mL
- Tip Options: Luer connection for IV connection, subcutaneous, and intramuscular.
- Packaging, labeling, branding
